Tackle 2022 the KeyForHer way!

Tackle 2022 the KeyForHer way!

It's a new year, which means it's time to take a look at what you want to achieve and tackle 2022 the right way! For many of us, a new year is a fresh start, a do-over, a time that motivates us to try something fresh or to recommit to tasks we may have put on hold.

When we talk about the new year, one word often comes to mind: resolutions.

The arrival of a new calendar year could well mean planning out resolutions and goals. Whether deciding to run more, write more, or do more, January 1 means we’ve extra drive to accomplish goals.

And it turns out; you're not alone.

Indeed, only 8 percent of people end up accomplishing their New Year’s resolutions. So it’s no wonder that (in addition to the post-holiday slump), not being able to keep your resolutions by February may increase your anxiety.

Sometimes, it seems that good intentions are just meant to be broken.

However (when established properly), resolutions can be productive ways to set goals and intentions for the year ahead.

If you want to set yourself up for the best chance of achieving your 2022 goals, we’ve put together a simple guide of our top tips to get you started.

How to tackle 2022

Start with reflection

We don't realise that the problem isn't that we’re not capable of sticking to our resolutions – it's that we need to do a better job making resolutions that are meaningful and align with our values.

The first step in setting resolutions that resonate with you is self-reflection.

Start by asking yourself questions:

  • How has my life been like over the past 12 months?
  • What went well that I am grateful for?
  • Was there anything that could have gone better?
  • How has my life changed over the past 12 months?

Your answers to these questions will help you determine what is important to you and shape your goals.

Write them down

Pull out a journal and get things down on paper; people who write down their goals feel a greater sense of accountability and have a higher chance of accomplishing them.

Having a list of your goals allows you to track your progress. Checking off completed items will give you a great sense of accomplishment, motivating you to keep going.

Make them public

The more public you make your commitment to your new resolutions, the more likely you are to stick to them.

Sharing goals holds us accountable, making it harder to back out.

Consider allocating a buddy to keep you on track, or perhaps start a resolutions blog or journal documenting your journey.

Celebrate successes

If your focus is just on the end-game, it's easy to feel discouraged when progress plateaus.

Big success is made up of small victories. Create mini-milestones for each of your goals and decide how you will reward yourself when you reach them.

Remember, having goals is important, but life should not stop if you experience setbacks. Have fun with your resolutions, and you will be more inclined to stick to them.

Tackle challenges

If getting your health back on track is on your list of priorities for 2022, consider your diet and supplement schedule.
